I am currently researching and writing my third year dissertation and i have to say it is becoming very tricky. I wanted to write about something that i felt passionate about and that engaged me intellectually. A few months ago I read a book by Jane Goodall called Stage Presence and i found her theories and study to be fascinating. The way in which she disscuses the theories of stage presence in both scientific and supernatural terms is fascinating. However i am struggling to find a narrow enough argument within this field. I relly do enjoy researching and studying in this field but it is very difficult. Oh well.. i guess i will just wade through the books and articles unitl i find my title!  

Ive just finished a week of workshops in preperation for a performance of THE RED VIAL at The University of Birmingham in Feburary 2011. It was a tough week, but i found out alot about Wilkie collins as a writer and director and how to work within a meolodramatic style of performance. Even though we havent started rehearsals yet, i think its going to shape up to be a great production. We have a great cast of actors and crew so its going to be tough but brilliant!
