About me

Hello. I’m Hana.

I’m a radio producer, sound designer, presenter and DJ based in London.

At school, I was the kid always making mix tapes- recording radio shows and dictating to the disco dj what he should play.

I suppose it was kind of inevitable I ended up here.

I have the following four words framed on my wall
“Show some fucking passion”
-that explains a lot of what’s coming.

I work collaboratively with Independent Companies and individuals creating everything from BBC radio documentaries to sound art installations- film scores to sound effects.

Occasionally I lecture on the contemporary art of radio featuring making at Goldsmiths College, University of London (where I was lucky enough to study my MA.)

In 2013 I was awarded the Charles Parker Prize for Radio Feature making and in 2014 I was shortlisted for the Hearsay International Audio Arts Award and “Best Newcomer” at the UK Radio Production Awards.

I was bloody delighted with all the above.

My sounds and stories have been played worldwide on the radio, in theatres, on big screens (and little ones), at festivals, in warehouses, bars, University lecture halls and even a public toilet.

At the moment I’m a staff producer for Falling Tree Productions (www.fallingtree.co.uk) but you can also find me presenting The Sunday Comedown on Hoxton Radio (http://hoxtonradio.com/presenters/) , DJing around East London and generally making a little too much noise.

I’m a YES woman (explains the public toilet) and I’m always looking for the next bit of something to get stuck into with someone new- maybe that’s you?

Previous clients include: The Arcola Theatre, Bad House Films, BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 4 Extra, The Being Human Festival of Humanities, Brighton Fringe Festival, Camden Roundhouse, Cape Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, FourPlay, The University of Hull, Hull Truck Theatre, Kingston Arts Festival, The Dialogue Project, The National Student Drama Festival, South Leeds Community Radio, Unilever and Wakefield Arts Festival.
