About me

Greg Eldridge is an Australian-born stage director specialising in operatic theatre.

Following training as an actor, Greg began directing prose theatre and then went on to complete specialist study in Opera Directing in Italy. Since then, Greg has worked across 6 countries on over 30 productions ranging from classics of the repertoire to world premieres.

Now based in London, Greg works as a freelance director and dramatic coach, adapting 'method' acting techniques for use by classical singers to help them tell engaging stories on the stage.

  • Hello Greg. You still in UK? I picked up your message very late in the day I'm afraid.

I like to explore authentic movement and what I call a 'body out' approach to classical vocal expression. I like 'comprovisation' and am interested to make and rework opera and oratorio pieces.

I've started a group today on Ideastap and wonder if you have any interests in common. I'd like to collaborate and/or hear from performance artists who'd like to bring 21st century older womanhood into the light of day via media and performance works.. I guess it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, that I consider present media representations of older people, and older women in particular, to be anachronistic.

    Best wishes, Kim
