Qualified to Date is a one-sided insight into a first date between two strangers; an entertaining commentary on the natural analysis we all do on ourselves, the behaviours we exhibit when under pressure and the criticism of the negative character traits we believe we have. Jenny Coyle graduated from The University of Manchester in 2011 and threw herself into the London theatre scene. About me

Fragment.al Theatre address issues that are prevalent in today’s society but need more awareness bringing to them. Issues, topics and diseases/disorders concerning Mental Health are our priority; the stigma needs to be removed from society and viewpoints from both sufferers and non-sufferers.

Aside from the mental health aspect, we want to keep hold of the idea that theatre is supposed to be political, push the boundaries but be exciting and entertaining at the same time, with current issues of today.

We want to create new, fresh and exciting theatre and elements of different writing such as spoken word, poetry and dialogue and mix them with an eclectic mix of theatrical styles.
Sound like a mishmash? That’s the point. Mental Health is not a straight forward issue.
We want to create relatable and non-gender specific theatre to make these issues accessible and easy to understand – opening an audiences eyes into the minds of people who have mental illness or issues with mental health.

The effects of creating this kind of eclectic form of theatre would give audiences a different experience when they come to the theatre; the new writing the company would create would enable audiences to think differently and more openly about the issues we want to discuss. Although spoken word and poetry are now more popular forms of art, we would combine that element with performance/theatre thus creating a unique and experimental quality to the work we produce.
