I am about to start my third and final year as a Theatre Design student at Rose Bruford Drama College and I still have lots to learn about designing but want to experience and design for all types of performance. I am very interested in design for opera and large scale pieces and learning more about site specific work and how a space can be adapted and transformed to become something else.

In April 2014 I designed my first realised event, Symposium, a theatre festival at my university. The experience of working with a team on a realised design concept was wonderful and I hope I will have the opportunity to do this more in the future.

My first realised show has just finished, an edit of Mercury Fur by Philip Ridley directed by Matthew Wright. I loved collaborating with a director and lighting designer, engaging with one another to explores ideas and different possibilities. I had to help construct a great deal of my set through which I learnt what I am capable of creating on my own without the support of a large team.

During summer 2014 I worked as a dresser with Rift Theatre Company on their production of Macbeth at Balfron Tower, an overnight immersive theatre piece, costume design by Florence Hazard, directed by Felix Mortimer.

I have recently worked as costume designer on a short film for the Shakespeare in Shoreditch festival based on Othello, written by Nick Coupe and directed by Guido Cavaciuti where I learnt so much about film and the restrictions of certain fabric patterns and what a camera will pick up on.

I have also just finished as costume designer on a project by Rift_ where an immersive murder mystery was put on at the Ritz for a book launch event, The Monogram Murderers by Sophie Hannah, produced by Dominique Bull and set Design by Anna Hale. It was a wonderful experience and I really had to step up and take on a lot more responsibility than I have had to before which whilst stressful at the time has made me a far more competent and reliable designer. I know that in the future I will be able to achieve more than I thought possible and within a short time frame.
