About me

Many thanks for visiting my profile! I'm a London-based performer (actress & dancer) and I moved to London in 2011 by passion for dance & physical theater. After a diploma at LABAN dance school, I got an intensive training at LISPA (London International School of Performing Arts), based on Lecoq's theater principles, in order to discover a new range of movements and to work in a deeper level in physical theater.

So far I have been very lucky to take part in exciting projects, such as performing with Arbonauts this summer which create performative installations inspired by unusual spaces and surreal narratives (please see their reference's letter below), at Tate Modern, Tank, Resolution dance festival (The Place), Bonnie Bird Theater and Rich Mix, also with some exciting companies like Theo Adams Company, LCP Dance Theater or Theatre Libre, with independent choreographers such as Lydia Fraser-Ward, Jemma Bicknell or Charlotte Wolf.

Besides, as a visual artist (drawing), Espacio Gallery in Shoreditch invited me in November 2013 to exhibit some drawings at the exhibition "A Place in Between" curated by Carlos de Lins. My submissions were related to a transitional state where I was striving to find balance in order to get through a space in which life's impulses can emerge. On the occasion of the private view, Espacio Gallery asked me to create a live art performance and I chose to work on the need of security, of willing to fill the empty spaces in ourselves in order not to feel the gaps, questions, fears, doubts.. the fear of not having enough, not being enough, the fear of missing something --though we do have almost everything in our western society. This (collective..?) fear brought us into a difficulty of finding the freedom to be who we are, to move lightly through the world... Maybe the need of controlling, of possessing, blocks the possibility of opening new spaces in ourselves that would let sparks and hopes arise?

Finally, a letter of Recommendation by the company ARBONAUTS, London
By WWW.ARBONAUTS.ORG

To Whom It May Concern,

Dominique performed a central role in Biped’s Monitor – Arbonauts’ acclaimed site-specific performance at dusk in Nunhead Cemetery.

Dominique’s acute characterisation and eagerness to push to the limits - coupled with a total commitmitment to the physical language of the production made her an essential energetic influence of our production. Her focus and stamina was evident throughout, and her ability to transport an audience’s experience through her embodiment of gesture, her intensity of gaze and raw energy is inspirational.

Whilst being a delightful member of our cast she always remained professional, generous and confident – for instance leading specific movement workshops within the devising period of our production.

We recommend Dominique without reserve - and look forward to working with her again in the future.
