About me

Claire Elizabeth Alberie

Writer & Director: Film/Tv/Theatre

I'm interested in power/sex/empathy/violence/voices. How we lose connections with strangers in the every day and find them again on the screen. How films can serve as platforms for debate as well as self-reflection.

My background is in theatre/performance/installation and in addition to my narrative fiction work I'm also developing projects that explore performance on screen - both captured and played and captured in real time. I'm interested in audience participation and film's place in a wider cultural experience... not confined to domestic or traditional spaces. What happens when the audience space becomes a set?
