Cherise Cross is the Writer and Co-Director of 8fold theatre company.

Our Company Statement is:

'8fold was formed in 2011 and is based in London, UK. The company is formed of Cherise Cross and Sue Lloyd.

8fold aim to produce provocatively original theatre. We believe there’s more than one side to every story; to take things at face value is to lose an opportunity to think for yourself. We are motivated to seek out the hidden layers in a narrative, whilst avoiding the temptation to lose ourselves in our vision.

We want our audiences to emotionally connect to our performances before we shift them from their comfort zone. We enjoy creating bold, well defined characters with whom audiences will want to engage and spend their time… and then we throw them into magical, distorted realities you won’t have seen coming. We want our audiences to come to their own conclusions based on their beliefs, outlooks and personal experiences. They’ll mess with your head, but you’ll like them all the same. Above all else, we simply want to entertain.

And we promise never to take ourselves too seriously.'

Cherise has previously written two scripts for The Sleepwalkers Theatre Group - 'Begin at the beginning, and go on until you come to the end; and then stop' (2009, site specific location, Northampton) and 'The Somnambulist' (2008, The Electricians Room, Trinity Buoy Wharf, London)

Cherise was shortlisted in The Bruntwood Playwriting competition (2008).
