About me

An actor, writer and musician - Callum trained at Rose Bruford College as a specialist in American Theatre Arts, training in London and the US where I also lived for a year.

Callum is a member of the award winning actor-musician 'Cut to the chase...' ensemble at The Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch under artistic director Bob Carlton. There he has performed as 'Chris' in The Young Ones, 'Tony' in Up 'n' Under, 'Dandini' in Cinderella, 'Jan' in Oscar Wilde's The Happy Prince and a range of characters in Vicky Ireland's adaptation of Peter Pan.

Callum has also performed as part of the Camden Fringe as 'Chris' in Waiting For Wonderland, given rehearsed readings of award winning Spanish play Inside the Earth by Paco Bezera and was a resident musician for feminist theatre company Shady Dolls.

As a Co-founder of Blind Tiger Callum has performed in A Life In Monochrome (which he also co-wrote) at Oval House Theatre and The Space Arts Centre. He also appeared in Casanova as a guest practitioner at Rose Bruford College where is also teaches on their summer school course. Blind Tiger will be presenting their version of 'Cinderella' at The Leicester Square Theatre this Christmas.

Callum has had three of his plays produced, the first Coffee and John being performed in the US, A Silent Mouth and A Life In Monochrome in London.

Callum plays Drums, Piano, and Guitar to a good standard. With a very good musical ear he can pick almost anything up without too much trouble having played Bass, Cello, and Violin when required to.

Callum enjoys deconstructing music and enjoys musical directing when working in an ensemble, where we can discover how to tell the story in the most creative way possible.

Dear Callum,

I am writing to inform you of and indeed invite you to audition for our Rep Theatre Production Company and Training Programmes; The Year of the Monkey and Two Year Rep.

Auditions start in October and continue throughout the year for a September 2013 start on both projects.

Year of the Monkey:

A One-Year Production and Training Programme, performing seasons of Repertory productions in London and at the Edinburgh Festival (Aug 2014).

A Company of actors are formed and play in some of London and Edinburgh's most exciting venues, combined with a training programme encompassing Bikram Yoga, Circus, Stage Combat, Shakespeare, Industry Q&A's, Casting Director Workshops, Clown, Short Film Project, Movement, Dance, Physical Theatre to name a few.

Two-Year Rep:

An innovative Two-Year Performance and Training Project combining Full-Time training with productions of both established work as well as original devised pieces. Performed in Repertory throughout the two-year period, the actor will deliver four seasons of work (in London, Edinburgh Festival and touring). Regularly working with established practitioners (including the likes of Complicite amongst others), in all aspects of performance and actor development; from Clown to Shakespeare, Bikram Yoga to Alexander Technique, Stage Combat to Meisner and Puppetry to Dance, including a month's residency in Italy training in Commedia dell'Arte, Fourth Monkey's Two-Year Rep truly is a unique programme of Actor training. Undertaken whilst working as an ensemble, producing work as a professional company throughout the programme and indeed beyond.
