It was inspired by Shakespeare's Rude Mechanicals and the rich history of Britain's medieval mystery plays. It celebrates the triump of the amateur, as five men* from Suffolk stage the greatest birth on earth. The show blended slapstick comedy, quick-witted humour, comic poetry and delightful musical numbers. *One of the men looks suspiciously like a woman in a beard.
