I was brought up in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and lived there for eighteen years. I took a year out traveling before starting a degree in Drama and English Literature at the University of Sussex. During my time at the Sussex I became heavily involved in Sussex University Drama Society [SUDS]. Most of my directorial experience during this time was with new or original writing and devised performance.

I graduated in 2008 and went directly to the Edinburgh Fringe to work as a Theatre Manager for Rocket Venues. I then moved back to Newcastle for six months and became an active member of The People’s Theatre. In March 2009 I took up residence in Bristol and began an MA in Directing at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Moving to Bristol from Newcastle has been a wonderful experience as I have always been excited by Bristol's passion for the arts and promising development in the theatre scene in particular.

After finishing University in 2008 I started up a production company called Mister Gustarfeson Presents... with my colleague Holly McGrane. The company has since produced three plays including The Poet and the Rent for the Brighton Fringe, Wild East and The Kitchen Sink Dramas; an evening of new writing (and some old) performed in her kitchen. The company is continuing working together under the new theatre title Juncture and produced Topdog/Underdog directed by Tinuke Craig for the Counter Culture Project.

Most of my work to date has been with original or new writing and devised performance. This is my comfort area and where I feel I flourish, however, it is my ambition to delve into waters unknown and try my hand at larger scale productions with bigger casts. I am never put off by a challenge!
