About me

I am a Canadian-American making my home in London as I cannot imagine anywhere I’d rather live as an actor. Since graduating from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in 2010, I have appeared as Larry in the feature film Little Glory with Cameron Bright and played a navel officer in World War Z, a film that stars Brad Pitt.

I am a member of the Grassroots Shakespeare Company, a troupe of actors that operates on many of the principles of Shakespeare’s day: we have no director, a short rehearsal schedule, gather our own costumes and props and work as a group to bring about our productions. In 2011, I played Bottom, to some critical acclaim, in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and in December of that year performed as Master Page in The Merry Wives of Windsor at the New Red Lion Theatre. This summer, I played Don Pedro in Grassroots' production of Much Ado About Nothing. We performed at The Scoop Theatre in London and the RSC Dell Theatre in Stratford.

I recently played a gangster in Chichester Festival Theatre's production of Brecht's The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui with Henry Goodman. I also participated in a rehearsed reading of The Taming of the Shrew at the Theatre on the Fly at Chichester Festival Theatre.

I began playing in Shakespeare productions at the age of six: a mother in our local community in Boulder, Colorado would put on three productions a year with children getting bigger parts as they matured. As this experience influenced my life significantly and that of so many others, I have tried to give children in my community a similar opportunity and have directed children in five Shakespeare productions over the past fivesummers. I also teach drama weekly to children at three different learning establishments, work I find extremely rewarding
.
As a writer, on the strength of a play I wrote entitled Private Violence, I was selected in 2010 by the National Theatre, along with 14 other young writers, for Aftershocks, a programme to create and perform in an original play at the National Theatre Studios. I was invited back in 2011 to the Cottesloe Theatre to perform a monologue I wrote.
