Male
Short Description:
24 year old Writer, Playwright and Scriptwriter
Region:
North West

Following a successful navigation of an undergraduate degree in Queen's University, Belfast, I opted for the prestigious MA in Script-writing at the Seamus Heaney Centre of Queen's, under the guidance of Tim Loane. I graduated in 2011.

I have written for Accidental Theatre's ‘Fast and Loose’ 24 hour writing exhibition, having two sketches performed, one titled ‘Douglas’, and the other ‘Pirate Radio.’ Both were a rip-roaring success.

I won the first round of the Queen’s Quarter Weekend-funded ‘Semper Belfast’, with a sketch called ‘Cheep Laughs’. It was funny.

I was part of a team of writers who created, recorded, produced and edited a radio play with no budget. This was part of my MA in Scriptwriting and has set the standard with which each MA production must try to match. The 'queensma' link above will allow you to listen to it in its entirety.

My first play, ‘The Adventures of Mister Spaghetti Hoops’ was initially to be given a rehearsed reading this year, but due to such positive feedback, it will be given a full performance in association with Belfast-based Accidental Theatre later on in the year.

I have recently completed the highly-respected Young Writers' Programme with the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse Theatre, in which I have written a full-length stage play, among two other plays that I have been working on in my free time.

My work has also received publication on Royal Court Theatre, London’s 100 Word Plays website (Royal Court link), as well as the Irish Poetry website 'Wordlegs'.
