Currently studying Film & Video at University in Wales, I spend my spare time writing Plays, sketches and (growing ever less frequent) short films. The feature length has been put on hold until I've written my most pressing plays. I'm part of a Theatre Group and used to write/direct/co-star in Christmas plays back home in Greater London. Since moving to Uni however, that stopped. I really miss it and after realising my passion for Theatre last summer, have tried to seriously act more.Earlier this year, I took part in a 24 hour "Steampunk" play creation and acted as a rather eccentric Professor of Mer-science. (The play was set in the future after the invasion and genocide of the Mer-folk, I played the expert scientist looking into all the relics discovered.) Otherwise, I tend to end up in my own short films, playing a not very happy character. Recently, for an online blog game, I became a kidnapped and tortured victim, who encouraged the players on and told them how slow they were going. I also played a downtrodden girl in a music video and a girl on the run after the world has evolved further. For the Christmas plays, I acted as "The Doctor", "The Detective Auntie", "Young Scrooge's Ex" and "The ghost of Christmas future". There's something so menacing about clicking your shoes on the floor in a silent room and then pointing at a grave. Oh, whilst wearing a black hood of course. My only experience of acting for an audience at Secondary school was prowling like a Goblin, but then, they did seem to enjoy that. The front row I mean, having a random girl growl menacingly at them. I suppose you get all sorts in an audience.I do believe I just got carried away with my memories, hopefully in an enjoyable manner however. In terms of writing, I tend to enjoy looking at life from the throne of death. Maybe, I got stuck in the character of The Ghost of Christmas Future... Interesting. I enjoy exploring the smaller aspects of life that affect a person wholeheartedly. Be it death, guilt, sexuality or owning a fish. Now, that would be an interesting script... Thanks Ideastap!
