I am a writer; I untangle thoughts and flow them into lines,
pick a common cliche, then twist and tweak to make it mine.
I am an artist; Shading in the in between,
smoothing the sharp edges of reality to be softer than they seem...
But what to do when your hand has no patience with the pen,
when it skips and slips and darts about, scribbles out and starts again?
When works of liquid silver no longer streak straight from nimble fingers?
And your creation looks more empty than the brilliant blankness of new pages?
When its all so quiet and small,
an insignificant scrawl,
