Martyna Majok began in Bytom, Poland and continued in North Jersey, Chicago and, now, New Haven. Her play MOUSE IN A JAR has been produced at Red Tape Theatre in Chicago and The LIDA Project in Denver. She has been awarded the Merage Fellowship for the American Dream, The Olga and Paul Menn Award in Playwriting, a Ragdale residency and a publication by Smith & Kraus of her ten-minute play, AFTER HOURS STAN. Martyna has worked with The Satori Group in Seattle, Overhead Projector, NTUSA, Boston Actors’ Theater, and Victory Gardens, Chicago Dramatists, American Theater Company, side project theatre, and Appetite Theatre in Chicago. Martyna studied at the University of Chicago and is currently pursuing her MFA in Playwriting at the Yale School of Drama, where her plays, BUFFALO, MAINE and THE FRIENDSHIP OF HER THIGHS have been performed. She has performed as an actor in New Jersey, Chicago and New York. This summer, her play, THE MARTIN, will receive a reading at the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival and her newest play, THE FRIENDSHIP OF HER THIGHS, will be developed at the Kennedy Center.
