Old Vic New Voices

Community

Our Community productions are your opportunity to create the kind of theatre that you’d love to see on stage. Every production we undertake is informed by what you tell us. So whether it’s about The Second World War, globalisation or London life, it is always rooted in the reality of our community, and is open to anyone to take part.

We insist on the best quality of professionals working on these productions, and maintain the high production values associated with The Old Vic. Established playwrights create the scripts based on research with the community, professional directors and fully experienced stage management team make the show happen.

Anyone can be involved in the productions either as a performer, working backstage or in the initial research phase – as long as you are over 16, you can take part regardless of your background or experience. Nearly 10,000 people have seen these high quality productions for free and over 1,000 have been involved as participants. Make sure you find out about the next one.

If I thought I would have as much fun, meet such a great crowd of people and be in another top quality production in the future – I would be there in a heartbeat.
