
Steve Winter
Director of Old Vic New Voices/Talent

Steve has worked for The Old Vic for seven years and in his time there has created and produced 4 large scale productions and commissioned over sixty plays. He is the casting director for the entire OVNV programme and has discovered some of the most talented actors working in our industry today as well as nurturing many directors, writers and producers. As an experienced arts educator he has created 30 bespoke education programmes for some 45,000 people and as champion of new work has mentored numerous theatre companies. He is on the editorial board of IdeasTap and a judge for the Royal Television Society. In 2011 he also became Programme Director for the newly formed Kevin Spacey Foundation which has just completed its inaugural project which worked in ten countries and across three continents.

Alexander Ferris
OVNV Senior Manager/Community

Alexander has directed and assisted on over 25 productions at some of the most prominent theatres in the UK, including the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, Theatre503, Sherman Cymru, Tricycle Theatre, Theatre Royal Plymouth, the Arcola and various Edinburgh Fringe venues. He has set up Youth Theatres and Creative Learning programmes at The Criterion Theatre, The Riverfront, Cardiff Mind, Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds and Sheffield Theatres. In his career to date, he has been involved in the development of over 60 new works for theatre. Alexander works across all three strands of OVNV’s work but specifically directs the large-scale community productions.

Bryony Roberts
OVNV Education Manager/Education

An experienced teacher and trained actor, Bryony has worked in education and theatre for over 10 years. Before joining OVNV, she worked as a Drama and English teacher in Warwickshire where she directed numerous in-school productions and ran additional extra-curricular drama programmes for young people. Bryony also trained at East 15, graduating with a Masters in Acting, and has performed in a number of national Theatre in Education tours. In her role with OVNV, she has managed the creative development and delivery of three large-scale education programmes which have reached over 8000 students.

Shaka Bunsie
OVNV IdeasTap Manager/IdeasTap

A qualified teacher with experience teaching hard to reach inner city students in the UK; before joining the OVNV team Shaka was a consultant with Newham Council, to advise on the process of setting up and running a number of External Exclusion centres. He is also a graduate of Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has worked professionally as an actor in America and Europe. Appearances include Rome (BBC and HBO), and EastEnders (BBC). Shaka is responsible for the administration and creative development of projects linked to OVNV’s partnership with IdeasTap.

Roxanne Peak-Payne
OVNV Officer

With a focus on new and participatory work, Roxanne has worked in various roles for theatres in London and the South West. Previously, Roxanne was a freelance producer and facilitator for education projects with organisations including SPID and Battersea Arts Centre. She has also worked in marketing roles at Bristol Old Vic and the Tobacco Factory Theatre, and was General Manager and Producer for The Cock Tavern Theatre. At OVNV, Roxanne is responsible for the marketing and general administration of the department, alongside project managing and assisting projects across all strands.

Hannah Jenkins
OVNV Education Manager [Maternity Cover]

Hannah has a background in applied theatre and has worked as a facilitator and project manager in various arts education settings. She trained at Central School of Speech and Drama, and since graduating has specialised in working with young people in a range of creative arts projects which has included participatory and issue based work. She has worked within various educational settings including mainstream, special educational needs, youth centres and pupil referral units.
