Talent

For the seventh year running, OVNV searched the country for the next generation of theatre makers with the capicity to provoke, inspire and innovate. This year we received over 2,500 applications to take part which we whittled down to just 39 actors, writers, directors and producers.

The challenge faced by this a company of 39 actors, writers, directors and producers aged between 18 and 30 was to create six brand new short plays from scratch in just 24 hours.

From the playwrights’ first ideas to casting, rehearsals, prop sourcing, the lighting design and sound effects, everything was completed in one day, an ready to be staged in front of more than one thousand VIPs and members of the public, on The Old Vic’s 193-year-old-stage.

On Sunday 28 October the Old Vic stage was witness to all of the companies hard work. The evening was hosted by the brilliant comedian Alex Horne. Below is the programme insert from the night with the details of the six plays presented.
