
NYT Masterclass Week in Shakespeare

This October half term, the National Youth Theatre (NYT) is offering performers aged 16-25 an exclusive chance to take part in an intensive Masterclass Week. Led by top industry professionals, this innovative course in Manchester will give you the chance to hone your classical acting skills, gain confidence in performing Shakespeare and showcase your new skills to a panel of industry experts who will give you personal feedback.
Students can expect to:
- Rehearse a Shakespeare monologue to performance standard
- Explore the language, themes and depth of Shakespeare’s plays
- Rehearse a duologue to performance standard
- Take part in an evening Q&A with a prominent Shakespearian actor/director
- Perform monologues and duologues to an invited industry panel and gain feedback on their performance
The National Youth Theatre
The National Youth Theatre (NYT) is the leading platform for training young acting talent and was the first youth theatre in the world. For the past 56 years we have worked on Shakespearean texts with some of the finest British talent including Dame Helen Mirren, David Suchet, Rosamund Pike, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sir Derek Jacobi, and many more.

Applications need to be received by 10th September 2012. Please note that selections will be made throughout the process, so we advise applications are submitted as early as possible.
