The National Youth Theatre is a registered National Open College Network accreditation centre and we deliver the highly successful Playing Up programme.
Originating from NYT’s Social Inclusion Programme, Playing Up is an Access to HE Diploma (Theatre Arts) for young people at risk, aged 19-25. A year long Level 3 course, students train in acting and theatre-making, whilst working alongside professional directors, actors and facilitators before progressing on to Drama school, University or employment in the performing arts industry.
In July 2012 this year’s Playing Up company will perform their graduation pieces. Check the website for more information.
2012 will also see the launch of NYT Replay, a new programme aimed at young people aged 16-18 who are not currently in education or training.
