Here at NYT, we actively encourage all of our members to fundraise as much of their costs as they can. Every year, lots of our successful members manage to fundraise all of their course costs, by organising their own campaign to raise funds.   We realise that our costs are significant, but we strongly believe that if you are a self motivated individual with passion and drive then you will succeed.  To help you on your way we have a few things that might help you.

Firstly, why don’t you watch our Quick Guide to Fundraising Video by clicking here

Then, have a good read of our 2012 Fundraising Guide, which is packed full of information about how to approach your own fundraising.

BURSARY

If you are experiencing difficulty once you have exhausted all of your fundraising ideas, we do have a very small bursary pot which you can apply to for funding. An NYT Bursary is a non-repayable award given by NYT to a young person who needs financial assistance to participate in an NYT project, course or production.

We are likely to fund one of the items below:

- A course fee

- Accommodation costs

Bursaries are very limited and are awarded on a financial needs basis. We award bursaries according to the criteria set below. Please note, that very rarely do NYT offer a full bursary of 100% of the costs.

The Criteria

1. Have you have contacted a minimum of 3 organisations and written a minimum of 10 letters requesting financial support? Please post supporting evidence to us (letters, emails, application forms).

2. Priority will be awarded to anyone who has been recruited through our Social Inclusion Programme, namely our Open Access and Playing Up Courses, or referred to NYT by support agencies.

If you apply for a bursary but do not receive one and would like to appeal our decision please let us know. We will refer your appeal to the Equality Sub Committee made up of members of the Council who will make a final decision.

How to Apply

Please follow the links below to apply for a bursary online:

Acting and Technical Application Form

Please ensure you ask a referee to fill in a reference form and send it to us in support of your application. We can't offer you a bursary unless someone (a teacher/doctor/drama leader etc) completes a reference form for you.
