Animators! This is your chance to get your short films screened at Watch Me Move: The Animation Show, a major new exhibition and event programme at the Barbican, celebrating animation and its impact on culture over the past 150 years.

Watch Me Move kicks off at the Barbican Art Gallery, London, on 15 June. Featured artists will include Étienne-Jules Marey, Harry Smith and Jan Švankmajer, as well as the output of major studios such as Walt Disney and Pixar. Most forms of animation will be covered – including hand-drawn, rotoscope, puppets, clay, cutout and other forms of stop-motion animation, computer animation and more specialist forms, including glass, pinscreen and sand animation.

We’ve teamed up with Barbican to bring you a competition for animators aged 16 to 25. Just upload your film to your IdeasTap portfolio for the chance to get your film screened at the Barbican cinema as part of Watch Me Move: The Animation Show.

Judged by a panel of animation experts, the six shortlisted films will be screened before feature films at the festival between 17 June and 25 August, and together at a special event on 8 September at Barbican Art Gallery. The six films will also be screened on Wallpaper.com, where their readers will vote to pick an overall winner who will then be profiled on their website.

Films must be approximately five minutes in length and, content-wise, must be appropriate to the feature films that they will be paired with. PG- or 12-rated films will have the best chance of making it to the big screen.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to submit a DVD copy for final judging.
