Description

Whether it’s for National Youth Theatre, drama school or professional work, nailing the audition is key for any actor.

Anna Niland, NYT Associate Director, is offering 10 IdeasTap members aged 16 to 25 a 20-minute one-on-one audition-technique review session to critique your audition and give you constructive feedback and direction on how you can improve and develop your piece. This session is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 12 December from 10am to 1.30pm, at IdeasTap HQ.

Anna was a member of NYT from 1987-1991 and has appeared in TV programmes ranging from Prime Suspect to Miss Marple. Some of her theatre credits include Peer Gynt and The Moonstone and her recent directing credits for NYT include SLICK by Ali Taylor, Tits/Teeth by Michael Wynne, Eating Ice-Cream on Gaza Beach by Shelly Silas and ID 1000 Cumbria by Phillip Osment.

To get the most from this session, it’s important you have both a contemporary and a classical monologue prepared – and that you know the lines! You will also need to bring a copy of the plays along with you, to help contextualise your speech.

You need to be in the process of applying for NYT, drama school or working as a professional actor, and looking to hone or review your audition speech.

This brief closes on Wednesday 28 November at 12pm and is open to IdeasTap members aged 16 to 25. If you have any technical queries, visit the help centre. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances, including technical issues – so make sure you don’t leave your application to the last minute.
