Metro Imaging is offering one female photographer the opportunity to receive a 12-month tailored mentorship with Metro Imaging.

Twenty shortlisted applicants will receive a free place at the Close Up: Women in Photo event on Tuesday 14 October 6.30pm-9pm. The winner of this brief will be announced at the event. 

Close Up: Women in Photo is an event devoted to discussing the photography industry from a female perspective and will consist of… 

• Talks: Anna Fox, Jane Hilton and Jenny Matthews will individually talk for 10-15 minutes on a ‘hot topic’ for female photographers. There will be a five-minute Q&A after each talk.
• Discussion: The three speakers plus Rosa Harvest (MiAL) and Shoair Mavlain (Tate Modern) will then discuss/debate the topic of “Photojournalism and the old boys club; do we still experience everyday sexism.” This will be followed by an audience Q&A.
• Networking: An hour of networking and chat over refreshments

The judges are looking for female photographers who have a unique body of work, strong potential and a hunger to succeed in the industry but need guidance.
