Description

BBC Writersroom has helped to get the work of hundreds of aspiring writers on TV and radio over the years. We’ve managed to secure an exclusive opportunity for you to get industry advice and insight from the people who run the show.

BBC Writersroom Development Producer Paul Ashton is running a fantastic seminar session just for IdeasTap members. Your work will be read and developed by Paul and two other experienced writers, with standout scripts given the chance for some extra development at a future date.

The session will be held in London at IdeasTap HQ (bear in mind no travel expenses are available for this brief). To apply, you need to tell us in 100 words about your writing experience and why you would like to take part.

You must also submit a piece of your dramatic writing – either a monologue or a short scene, which can be brand new or already in existence. Poetry is not acceptable for this brief. The judges will only have a limited time to read your work, so make your submission as short and sweet as your dramatic sense will allow.

The seminar will run twice, once on 4 November and once on 19 November from 12.30pm to 4.30pm. If you have a preference, please let us know.

This opportunity is open for 16 to 30-year-olds.

Important: If you have any issues about this brief, please send an email to info@ideastap.com.

Read an interview with Jack Thorne, who'll be involved with the seminar. Jack's written for Shameless, Skins and This is England '86. His first feature film The Scouting Book for Boys came out last year.
