Artistic Director for ArtWaves,

East Riding’s festival of visual art

Following the success of the inaugural ArtWaves festival, East Riding of Yorkshire Council is looking to commission an Artistic Director on a fixed term basis to deliver the second East Riding ArtWaves Festival in spring 2016 at The Spa Bridlington. The Artistic Director will report to a Steering Group and will be responsible for:

• Delivering the ArtWaves festival;
• Continuing to develop a financially viable and resilient model building on the success of the inaugural festival, with a decreasing requirement for financial support from the Council;
• Preparing and submitting applications for funding;
• Continue to develop and establish the infrastructure within the council and among partners to deliver the festival in future years;
• Identifying the target audience and marketing the festival.

We are looking to appoint an individual with the knowledge, vision and practical skills to develop and deliver the festival and to ensure that it becomes one of the leading ‘must see’ arts festivals in the UK.

The Artistic Director will be appointed on the basis of receiving a set fee for the work over a 12 month period. We will be inviting quotations for this work in April 2015 with a view to commencing in May 2016. Expressions of interest prior to being invited to quote must be made by Tuesday 31^st March 2015, 12.00pm.
