The V&A Museum of Childhood is currently looking for Volunteer Invigilators for it's new exhibition, Small Stories: At Home in a Doll's House.

We are recruiting volunteer invigilators to support the Front of House Team. Invigilators are responsible for a range of visitor services including safety, security, provision of information and interaction with visitors.

To succeed in this role you should have excellent visitor care and communication skills, and a good understanding of the importance of safety and security in a large public building.  You will enjoy working in a 'customer first' environment and be able to react to the different needs of ther Museum's diverse range of visitors. Working knowledge of a second langauge is desirable.

The Museum is popular with school groups and family audiences, which can make the galleries very full of children and adults. As a volunteer you should be comfortable approaching and talking to visitors of all ages and backgrounds. The galleries can be noisy when busy and the role will involve moving around and patrolling the exhibition gallery.

Volunteers will be asked to work one day per week from 9.30 to 18.00, ora half day of 9.30 to 14.00 or 13.30 to 18.00. Please send a copy of your CV with covering letter outlining your interest in the role to mocvolunteer@vam.ac.uk with the subject line Volunteer Invigilator Application.
