Want to take over the HighTide Festival?
This year, for the first time ever, the HighTide team are handing the reins of one of their four venues to a group, company or individual who will then make all the decisions – from programming to marketing – for two day-long slots. (It is hoped that the winner/s will then programme pieces created by other IdeasTap members.)
On Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 May, the brief winners will have a venue from 10am-10pm to tech, dress and perform the work programmed. You can programme anything you want, providing you can confirm and contract the artists by the agreed deadline. Shows can last anywhere from 10 minutes to 10 hours and can be any form of theatrical genre, e.g. devised work, physical theatre, new writing, published texts (if you have secured the rights), musicals, site-responsive, durational.
HighTide will provide the winners with:
* a fully equipped venue on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 May
* access to their technical team, to ensure your work is presented to the highest possible standard
* marketing and publicity support (providing all marketing information has been received by the agreed deadline)
* 80% of the net box-office takings for your production
* a Festival Pass each, allowing you to see other work throughout the festival (subject to availability)
You must be available on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 May to go to Suffolk for the HighTide Festival. You must programme, contract and remunerate all the work you programme, and HighTide can’t provide any travel expenses or accommodation, so you’ll need to factor this into your budget. You’ll also need to provide HighTide with all technical and marketing requirements by an agreed deadline, and work with HighTide’s Producer and Production Manager to ensure all the work complies with health and safety regulations and other relevant policies.
This brief closes on Monday 28 January at midday and is open to IdeasTap members who will be aged 18 and over on Thursday 2 May. If you have any technical queries, please visit the Help Centre. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances, including technical issues – so make sure you don’t leave your application to the last minute.
