Description

Entering the industry as a drama school graduate is intimidating and trying to make that vital first impression within the industry can be very difficult, especially if you don’t land yourself a professional job immediately. However, all is not lost – you can create your own showcase.

Thought about setting up your own company but don’t quite know where to start? Want to create a one-off performance in a London fringe theatre to give yourself, and others, the platform you deserve?

Molly Roberts, creative producer and artistic director of the successful graduate theatre company Poleroid Theatre, is offering eight IdeasTap members a 45-minute one-to-one advice session during which you will be given the kick-start and know-how you need to make your ideas a reality.

Molly can help you with:

  • Setting up a graduate company – is it a good idea?
  • The aims for your new company
  • How to create a unique company image
  • The logistics of developing your first showcase.
  • Information on how to approach theatre programmers for the first time, who to contact, and which venue is suitable for your project
  • Explanation of the terminology used when liaising with a theatre – including box office splits, hire fees, etc

These sessions will take place on Wednesday 11 September between 10am and 5pm at IdeasTap HQ in London.
