We’re working with the Bermondsey Street Festival to bring four performers the chance to showcase their work and get paid doing it.

Now in its fifth year, the popular community festival near London Bridge is built around the idea of a traditional village fete, but with a heavy dose of contemporary culture. Bermondsey Street is a creative centre for culture, the arts and fashion, and since our headquarters is situated on it we’re delighted to be involved in the festival.

This brief is open to IdeasTap members aged 18-30.

The Bermondsey Street Festival is looking for creative performers who can energise and excite the street during the day, as well as engage with members of the public in creative ways. Dancers could put on a spontaneous production, spoken word poets could wax lyrical about their favourite Bermondsey Street landmark, or a theatrical group could act out a play among the passers-by. It’s completely up to you. There will be three street performances and one stationary performance will be allocated a space to perform.

All we ask is that you try to immerse yourself in the culture and pulse of the street, and think of innovative ways to involve its residents. The performances should be aimed at children and families, you must be at least 18 to apply and each performer will be paid £50.
