Description

The Rosie Kay Dance Company are performing ‘There is Hope’ at mac Birmingham on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 March. While they’re at mac, they’ll be opening up their professional company class for up to 30 IdeasTap members to join in on either Tuesday 5 or Wednesday 6 March. The sessions are designed for dancers in training and professional dancers working in contemporary and ballet styles, enabling them to take part in a dynamic contemporary technique class.

Director and Choreographer Rosie Kay’s work spans across dance, embracing performance work, film, art installation and interactive web development. Rosie trained at the London Contemporary Dance School and formed the Rosie Kay Dance Company in 2004. Since then, the company have created Asylum, The Wild Party, Double Points: K, Supernova and 5 Soldiers – The Body Is The Frontline for the company, as well as dance films 5 Soldiers, The Wild Party and 22.

The Tuesday 5 class will be taught by Rosie, from 9.30-10.45am; the Wednesday 6 class will be taught by Rehearsal Director Adam Rutherford, from 9.30-10.45am.

Successful applicants must:

* be dancers in training at undergraduate level upwards or professional dancers who have completed vocational training

* be available to attend either session at mac

* have a profile picture on their IdeasTap portfolio.

(Please note that applicants from the Midlands are a priority for this brief, however we will also accept applications from members across the country.)
