Please note: all equipment (stills and video cameras) will be provided for the duration of the project
The National Youth Theatre is about to embark on its biggest project yet and needs talented young photographers and filmmakers to capture all the action.
The NYT’s creative team are looking for five photographers and 20 filmmakers to document S’warm – an environmentally-charged new street performance that will involve hundreds of performers taking over some of London’s most famous landmarks.
Inspired by the decline in bee populations worldwide – and the potentially devastating effect this could have on the planet – S’warm is part of NYT’s environmental trilogy. It will culminate in a huge, week-long event in London involving performers “swarming” at key spots across the capital.
The winners of this DigiSwarm brief will work with professional film and photography mentors to document these groundbreaking performances. They’ll also work with a production company to produce a film that will be screened in Canada Square to an audience of 1,500 – plus many more online.
You’ll get the chance to pack your showreel or portfolio with shots of these stunning locations, including top secret weird and wonderful industrial wasteland invaded by 500 swarmers.
This brief is open to 16-25-year-olds and you’ll need to be free from Sunday 15 – Sunday 22 August 2010. Winners will receive money for lunch and travel in addition to professional mentoring.
