Ever dreamt of going to Shanghai?

We're working with the National Youth Theatre to offer 10 of you the chance to become part of a film and performance group who will stage a ground breaking production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, performed partly in London, and partly in Shanghai, and connected with digital wizardry.

The challenge is to create a site-specific production for multi-lingual audiences while retaining some of Shakespeare's original text. Well, no one said it was going to be easy.

We need the productions to be interactive and to work together, so we're looking for people who are comfortable and skilled in filmmaking, as well as being in front of the camera.

We need 10 people in total: five will travel to Shanghai and five will stay in London. All the participants will be responsible for connecting the two performances and facilitating the digital storytelling of one of Shakespeare's best love works, performed by two casts, thousands of miles apart.

Dates you need to be available:

Due to the complicated nature of booking flights and securing visas, applicants must be available for all the below dates. If you're successful you must commit 100% to the project.

Friday 9th April - Audition Day - location to be confirmed

Director, Joel Scott and Digital Consultant, Barney Girling will be meeting 30 shortlisted IdeasTap applicants on Friday 9th April. The shortlisted applicants will participate in a morning acting workshop and an afternoon digital training session. More information about this day will be supplied to all shortlisted candidates before they arrive on the day.

Wednesday 14th April - Friday 16th April - Development Workshop

Monday 28 June- Sunday 1st August - Rehearsal and Performance Dates

Here's the boring bit - you also need a valid passport, a clean criminal record, and to be between the ages of 16 and 25 on 5 April to take part in this project.
