We're looking for a talented artist, designer, illustrator or photographer to become the new editorial artist for IdeasMag. The selected artist will be expected to produce one image per week, for three months. They'll be paid £100 per image.

Description

We're looking for a talented artist, designer, illustrator or photographer to follow in the footsteps of the brilliant Pete Murgatroyd, and the magnificent Lewis Bush, as IdeasMag's new editorial artist. 

We want somebody to contribute a striking editorial image every week for two months. Images could be inspired by current affairs, the arts, or any other issues that matter to our members. The selected artist will be paid £100 per image (one per week for three calendar months). 

You could submit drawings, photographs, cartoons, digital images – any visual medium that enables you to create something thought-provoking, political or inspiring.

The winner will be required to submit a short paragraph to accompany and contextualise their image each week. Images will be showcased on IdeasTap's homepage carousel and in IdeasMag. 

If you're interested in creating images for editorial this is a great opportunity for you to build your portfolio.

Terms and conditions

  • The winner will be required to submit a short written outline of what they intend to submit for prior approval each week.
  • The £100 fee includes any revisions deemed necessary by IdeasMag's editorial team.

This brief closes on Friday 17 October 2014 at 5pm BST and is open to IdeasTap members aged 16 and over. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances, including technical issues – so make sure you don’t leave your application to the last minute.

  • I can't seem to submit. I keep getting the error message - 'Please provide answers for: 'Explain why you chose the track you’ve responded to (100 words)'
    Even though I have written my explanation in the box.

  • Hi- when I applied I couldn't link to my portfolio as my phone wouldn't let me. it's allowing me to paste the link now, is there any way I can edit my application to include the link?

    • Yes you have responded (you can check whether you've applied for a brief successfully by checking your IdeasTap profile activity feed and also by looking for your name among the list of brief responses). You would receive a reminder message, reminding you to submit your application, regardless of whether you have applied already.

    • If you open your portfolio set on the relevant image and then copy the URL, you can paste that. Alternatively you can paste a link for the whole portfolio set, if your Artist application is clearly labelled/ captioned.
