Breaking into the creative industries is tougher than ever before. That’s why we’ve partnered with renowned photographic agency Magnum Photos to give 20 IdeasTap photographers an incredible training opportunity.
Aimed at photographers at the start of their careers, Magnum’s Professional Practice event is a two-day masterclass hosted at mac birmingham, organised as part of IdeasTap Inspires. The weekend will involve a number of high-profile photography experts who will discuss the practical business of photography and pass on their invaluable industry knowledge. Topics covered may include the commercial print sale market, advertising shoots, commissioning for NGOs, image licensing, publishing photographic books, the modern editorial market, funding, and organising exhibitions.
Day two will provide photographers with an opportunity to receive a candid and honest critique of their portfolios by Magnum’s industry specialists.
The weekend is a unique opportunity to begin establishing a network, including both their peers and useful industry contacts, and to identify realistic routes into employment.
The judges are looking for IdeasTap members with:
