Description
Do you have a passion for storytelling and an interest in Africa? Are you a writer, photographer, filmmaker or illustrator with an interest in journalism and international development? Looking for some short, sharp work experience? Then this is the brief for you.
See Africa Differently is an online campaign bought to you by Comic Relief. They look to art, culture, sport, business, innovation and more to tell the often untold positive stories of the continent.
We're offering 30 IdeasTap members the chance to attend a two-day masterclass that will take place at Channel 4 and IdeasTap HQ on 23 and 24 August. You will gain similar skills to those developed in a more prolonged placement. UK travel expenses and lunch/refreshments will be provided.
Day 1 – Skills Summit: We’ll introduce you to experts from the fields of social media, journalism and charity from organisations such as Comic Relief, IdeasTap and Livity, among others. We’ll explain some of the communications skills important in making it in the workplace, tips on enhancing your creative thinking, as well as pointers on career development.
Day 2 – Content Creation: On day two you will workshop ideas for See Africa Differently and produce content to be published on their website.
For more information, visit See Africa Differently check them out on Twitter.
The brief closes on Monday 30 July at 5pm and is open to IdeasTap members aged 18 to 30. If you have any technical queries, please visit our Help Centre. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances, including technical issues – so make sure you don’t leave your application to the last minute.
