Description

We're giving filmmakers aged 16 to 24 the chance to have their films screened as part of the brilliant Hackney Film Festival on 9 September 2012. Prizes will also be awarded to the best film, as judged by a panel of professional film makers.

Hackney Film Festival works alongside IdeasTap and various colleges, schools and film organisations across the east London borough to find Hackney's emerging filmmaking talent. Plus, they are one of our Creative Spacers, based at IdeasTap HQ.

Hackney Film Festival is open to films of any length and genre, which includes but is not limited to documentary, music videos, narrative, non-narrative, experimental, animated and artists' moving image. You are eligible if you live, work or study in the London Borough of Hackney or can demonstrate a close link with the borough. Writers, directors and producers are eligible. A valid Hackney address, postcode and ward is required. Strictly one film per entrant.

Over 24 years old? Check out the festival's open submissions.

For more information about Hackney Film Festival, follow it on Twitter, Facebook and join the mailing list. The festival is currently based at IdeasTap's Creative Space, and takes place from 7 to 9 September.
