What are the best ways to market yourself as a photographer?
Whether it's via a website, portfolio, social networking or by contacting photo agencies and picture desks – it’s not always easy to know what the industry likes or doesn’t like.
Industry expert Will Carleton is offering to conduct one-hour one-on-one sessions on Tuesday 18 September with IdeasTap members where he’ll go through your marketing materials/approaches and suggest how they can be improved and who you should be targeting.
The three individual appointments will be scheduled between 2pm and 5pm on Tuesday 18 September and will take place at IdeasTap HQ in Bermondsey, London – please make sure you can attend before you apply.
About Will Carleton
Since going freelance in 2006, Will Carleton has offered sales and marketing advice to photo agencies and picture libraries, as well as taking on editorial photographers in 2007. He covers frontline marketing to picture editors, how to get noticed, website presentation and what picture editors want – and don't want. Once a photographer has taken all these elements on board he then makes personal introductions and recommendations to commissioning picture editors.
This brief will close at 5pm on Wednesday 12 September and is open to IdeasTap members aged 16 and up. If you have any technical queries, please visit the help centre. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances, including technical issues – so make sure you don’t leave your application to the last minute.
