What you win

The Lost Lectures are giving one IdeasTap member to take to the stage at their next event on 23 November, and give a talk.

Judging

The Lost Lectures team

The judges are looking for a speaker who is passionate about their chosen subject.

Description

The Lost Lectures is an event that aims to re-imagine what a lecture can be...

The Lost Lectures team transforms lectures into social experiences that invite a sense of adventure, rather than tedium. To do this, they take lectures out of musty halls and sterile conference centres, and host nights in amazing, top secret locations – from abandoned swimming pools in Berlin to derelict hotels in London.

Speakers include a mixture of emerging and established talents who talk about a subject they are passionate about. Each event is fully art directed, with interactive elements throughout the venue, temporary art installations, a licensed bar and surprise performances.

For their The Big Fight - Live event on 23 November, Lost Lectures are keeping one lecture slot open for an IdeasTap member to come and share their big idea. You will be speaking on the same night as Ruby Wax and Professor Simon Barren Cohen, before an audience of 1,000 people. It’ll be an amazing platform for you to share thoughts, or simply your personality, before a receptive audience.

Lost Lectures will also invite journalists to attend, and will be streaming the event live online. In the past, they've hosted all sorts of speakers, who have used their slots in weird and wonderful ways; from offering sobering forecasts of the future, to hosting sing-a-longs, so how you use your time on the podium is entirely up to you. The best speakers tend to be imaginative and honest.

In the past, Lost Lectures have hosted infamous electro artist Peaches, Turner Prize-nominated artist Sparticus Chetwynd (now known as Marvin Gaye Chetwynd), culinary visionaries Bompas and Parr, and many more.

Please note: the Lost Lectures team are very keen to find an IdeasTap speaker – but they cannot guarantee there will be a winner of this brief if they do not receive an application they feel is appropriate.

This brief closes on Wednesday 13 November at 5pm and is open to IdeasTap members aged 18 and over. If you have any technical queries, please visit our Help Centre. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances, including technical issues – so make sure you don’t leave your application to the last minute.
