Description

Animators! Would you like your work reviewed by award-winning stop-motion animator and director Drew Roper?

Apply for our Film Showcase: Animation brief and you'll be in with a chance of receiving personal feedback on your work from Drew, as well an award credit for your CV, and a showcase on IdeasTap, with your work promoted to our 135,000 members.

Drew is a stop-motion animator and director from Walsall, with industry experience ranging from all aspects of production within small budget productions to children’s TV series such as Aardman’s Shaun the Sheep (2012) and Hollywood blockbusters such as 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) directed by Wes Anderson and Walt Disney’s Frankenweenie (2012) directed by Tim Burton.

Drew now runs his own animation studio, Yamination Studios, based in Birmingham, working on short films, promos and TV commercials for brands such as Coca-Cola, Cravendale and Sky Arts.

Film Showcase is our regular brief for filmmakers. Each competition focuses on a different area of short film.

All you need to do to apply is explain your submission in 100 words, and link to the animation – of no longer than 30 minutes – in your IdeasTap portfolio. Drew will be judging entries on their ability to convey a story through animation, and specifically on innovation, creativity, technical ability, and conception.

This brief closes on Friday 13 June 2014 at 5pm and is open to IdeasTap members aged 16 and over. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances, including technical issues – so make sure you don’t leave your application to the last minute.
