Description

Like the thought of designing an award?

The Exeter Phoenix is looking for one IdeasTap member, or group, to create a set of awards for the Two Short Nights Film Festival 2014 winners.

Two Short Nights is the longest running short film festival in Exeter. Now in its 13th year, the festival celebrates and promotes short filmmaking on an international scale. Since its launch in 2001, the festival has commissioned and supported over 100 filmmakers. The awards will be presented to the filmmakers at the final award ceremony on 12 December 2014.

The five awards all need to be the same in design, but represent the categories below:

  • Best Film in Screening
  • Best Short Film Commission
  • Best International Film
  • Best 48-Hour Film
  • Audience Choice Award

Your designs should incorporate the themes of futuristic and/or new technologies in some form.

The winner(s) of this brief will receive a £500 design budget to create their awards, as well as a £500 winners fee.

The judges of this brief want you to consider how the awards can be interactive, light up, move, speak, fly, project, and ultimately represent the innovation and creativity of the Two Short Nights Festival.

Your submission should detail the design, including:

  • Positioning of the Two Short Nights Film Festival and Exeter Phoenix logos
  • Material production and specification
  • Photographs/renderings of models and prototypes

The winner will be expected to create, and deliver, the awards to Exeter Phoenix by 10 December 2014.

    • It's open to interpretation - it doesn't have to resemble a gong. Thanks!
