Description

This is a brief for dance workshop leaders. If you are a dancer/choreographer apply here. If you are an outdoor performance artist apply here.

IdeasTap and Team London Bridge are commissioning three outdoor dance workshops themed around the five human senses to be performed as part of London Bridge Live Arts (LBLA) festival, 25 to 27 September 2014. There will be one workshop per day.

Workshops will last approximately one hour, with a £150 fee offered. Each workshop will showcase emerging London dance talent as part of LBLA’s wider programme of performing arts themed around the five human senses. The workshops should be engaging, fun and stimulating as well as promote healthy activities for residents, students, professionals and visitors.

London Bridge Live Arts is now in its third year. This year, the programme includes a range of events that reflect its venue, the Quadrangle at King’s College London Guy’s Campus, and the wider community’s historic contributions to biomedical science.

Workshops will be selected by a panel of team members from IdeasTap, Team London Bridge and Fantasy High Street, who are producing this year’s festival. Applicants will be selected based on accessibility, creativity of content and community context. We highly encourage genres that are accessible to the greater public.

Successful applications will be innovative and engaging. The judges of this brief want to see vibrant, eye-catching workshops that connect with audiences on different levels.

  • Hi Megan - ideally we'd like to see something that looks at one of the five senses, a combination of senses or generally themes around human perception of the surrounding environment. Workshops audiences are up to you though we do like to see work that is accessible.

  • Does the project have to be about all 5 senses, or should you choose just one?

Should the workshop be aimed at adults, children, both or is that left up to us?
