About Uri Roodner

Uri Roodner has enjoyed an extensive career as a performer, director and teacher. During the 1980s and 1990s he trained, or collaborated with, some of the great European clowns including Philippe Gaulier, Pierre Byland, Lindsay Kemp, Angela De Castro, Marcello Magni and Desmond Jones.

He has appeared in major British theatres including The Royal Court, Sadler’s Wells and The Arts Theatre West End, and in films by major directors such as Michael Winterbottom and the Brothers Quay. Throughout the 1990s he toured internationally with Tottering Biped Theatre that he co-founded with Katie London. The Times hailed their work as “comic, strikingly creative, berserkly funny”.

He is a senior lecturer at East 15 School of Acting where he designed and developed the renowned ‘CT’ (BA Acting and Contemporary Theatre), a course dedicated to the training of innovative, and entrepreneurial, multitalented performers.
