Description

Writers! Illustrators! Photographers! Anthology brief winners La Boi Band are looking for writers and visual artists to contribute content to their zine, LBB.

La Boi Band is an art collective that emerged in 2012 as an idea between four black and queer-identified performance and visual artists. The LBB zine will be a faux '90s teen pop-culture magazine, with a style reminiscent of TOTP magazine, Smash Hits and Just Seventeen. La Boi Band and are also preparing for an art exhibition later this year in London, where the magazine will feature as a printed edition.

WRITERS: La Boi Band are looking for people interested in creating song lyrics and fake readers' letters.

VISUAL ARTISTS: La Boi Band want spoof advertisements suitable for a '90s teen magazine, as well as imaginative '90s-inspired visuals to place throughout the zine.

All contributors will be paid for their work.

Successful entrants will demonstrate strong references to '90s pop culture and style, an interest in black queer identity, gender and visibility, and have the ability to work to a tight deadline and deliver results.

This brief closes on Monday 4 March at midday and is open to all IdeasTap members. If you have any technical queries, please visit the Help Centre. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances, including technical issues – so make sure you don’t leave your application to the last minute.
