Do you want to take a show to The Edinburgh Fringe Festival? Do you want the opportunity to perform at Edinburgh’s most exciting venue? Do you want the backing of some of the industry’s biggest players?
Sure you do.
For the first time ever, Old Vic New Voices is taking a season of work to the Edinburgh Fringe, in partnership with one of the Festival’s most renowned venues, the Underbelly, supported by IdeasTap.
That’s right: we will be giving five new plays a daily slot at one of three Underbelly venues for the whole of August.
We’ll be providing help with press, PR and marketing, giving your show the industry stamp of approval it deserves. The winners will also get a dedicated technician and a project manager, as well as entry into the Edinburgh Comedy Festival and Joint Venues brochure and money to cover the cost of flyering.
While you will still be expected to cover your rehearsal and accommodation costs, and pay your team, this opportunity will make taking a show to the Edinburgh Fringe not only achievable, but pretty darn attractive.

How to respond
To apply, you must be aged between 18 and 30 on Friday 17 February 2012.
You must be applying to put on a new work, that hasn’t been published.

1. Apply by clicking Follow this brief in the left-hand column. You’ll only see this option if you’re signed in to IdeasTap.
2. Download the application form, fill it in and save it as a Word doc or Adobe PDF.
3. Once you’ve got your application form ready, click Apply now in the yellow box on the left. This will take you to a page headed Submit your response.
4. State the name of your project.
5. Tell us why you want to go to Edinburgh, in 100 words or less.
6. Upload your completed application form and press Submit.
Please note: you MUST wait for your application form to upload before you hit Submit or we won't get it. You'll know it has uploaded when you see a grey box with Download file underneath it. Once you see this, hit Submit.
One final thing – please make sure you have a photo on your profile page. It doesn't need to be a headshot and you won't be judged on the quality of this picture – but as with all the briefs on IdeasTap you have to have a profile picture to be eligible.
