The brief winner will get the chance to work on a new mid-scale theatre piece (audience of 250+) alongside the experienced team at curious directive.
You must have at least two years’ experience in animation, be interested in working with live and pre-recorded video design, motion capture artists, and be equally interested in working in a theatremaking environment. The judges are looking for someone with a versatile aesthetic, and wide-ranging skills in their field.
curious directive will be working with experienced motion capture artists at Shepperton Studios, as well as in other theatres around the UK before previewing the new piece in the summer of next year. The piece will then premiere for Christmas 2015.
The role will be an integral part of curious directive’s new making process during 2015 and will include mentoring.
Seven long-listed members will be invited to do a brief 10-minute presentation about their work, and answer questions from our panel in early February 2015.
Three members will be shortlisted and take part in a daylong workshop with the company in London in February 2015.
One member will win £2,000 to work with curious directive on the project over a four-week period throughout 2015.
The judges are looking for an applicant who displays:
- An ability to connect with the curious directive aesthetic and desire to code a world that will tell our story with elegance and rigor
- A keen interest in and proven ability to research and create clear, logical aesthetics
- A generous, open presence in the rehearsal room
