Team London Bridge and members of the local resident community

Description

Ever dreamt of designing a cookery book?

Our pals at Team London Bridge have been working with their neighbours at White’s Grounds and Tyers Estate in Bermondsey to build some lovely community vegetable gardens. As part of this project, and to celebrate the cultural diversity in the estates, Team London Bridge would like to produce a recipe book featuring the favourite national dishes of the estate residents – this is where you guys come in.

Team London Bridge is ideally looking for one IdeasTap member, or member-led business, to design the book, place the copy and manage the printing schedule. A collaboration, e.g. a designer and photographer pair, would also be considered.

You will need to:

  • Produce artwork (illustration and/or photography) for an A5 brochure with either 24 or 36 text pages
  • Be able to transfer the work into a format suitable for an e-book, (preferably .epub, or other open standard format)
  • Produce an A3 single-sided poster for the White’s Grounds and Tyers Estate notice boards and an A5 double-sided flyer for letterboxes, advertising for submission of recipes. Team London Bridge would like a quote for both 20 and 50 posters, and 500 flyers.
  • Provide print price costs for either uncoated or coated paper
  • Arrange for 2,000 full-colour copies with saddle stitched finish to be printed

To apply, you will need to provide a .doc, .docx or PDF file containing:

  • A full and clear quote for the design and print work for all of the items noted above
  • One or more concept recipe book front covers, so that Team London Bridge can see your design style. Please note: they don’t expect to see fully worked-up front covers and the design does not have to reflect the current Team London Bridge brand
  • Approximately 500 words on how residents could be involved in the recipe book

The successful applicant will be credited in the recipe book, which will have an ISBN number.

The design fee is £1,500 and the total budget for the above £8,500 and the book should be ready by 15 October 2013.

The brief closes on Thursday 8 August at 5pm and is open to IdeasTap members aged 16 and over. If you have any technical queries, please visit our Help Centre. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances, including technical issues – so make sure you don’t leave your application to the last minute.
