Description

Dance, spoken word, physical theatre, circus, puppetry, workshops or magic: whatever your performance specialism, this brief has got your name scribbled all over it.

We’re offering talented IdeasTap members the chance to perform at our local festival – and we’ll pay you £50 per act.

The Bermondsey Street Festival, now in its sixth year, is a popular community festival near London Bridge. A blend of village fete folksiness and Bermondsey street style, the event promotes local talent and creativity. This year the theme is a celebration of British-ness.

Performances will be happening on the IdeasTap Stage, but we will also be programming street performances around Bermondsey Street to creatively engage the general public. Onstage performances can be 20 to 45 minutes long, while street performances will be staggered throughout the day.

To apply, just tell us about your act in 100 words max and upload some visual supporting evidence of what you propose to do at the festival to your IdeasTap portfolio. Your act can be solo or a group. Be as imaginative and original as possible with your performance ideas, but remember they should be family friendly and they mustn’t involve fire.

Bermondsey Street Festival is on Saturday 22 September from 11am to 6pm so please make sure you and your performers are available on that day before applying. All of your performers must be aged between 18 and 30 on the day of the festival. You will also need to arrange appropriate documentation (public liability and CRB checks if you are working with children).

This brief closes at 5pm on Thursday 23 August and is open to IdeasTap members aged 18 to 30 on 22 September 2012. If you have any technical queries, visit our help centre. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances, including technical issues – so make sure you don’t leave your application to the last minute.
