Description
£5k for your environmental art
Okay. The planet’s in a state. So what the hell are we going to do about it? This summer, the Ideas Fund is going green.
We’re committed to the environment here at IdeasTap, so with this Fund we’re putting our money where our mouth is.
We’re offering eight IdeasTap members £5,000 each to realise creative projects that either address green issues or are produced in an environmentally sustainable manner.
Ideas Fund Green is open to IdeasTap members aged 16-25 who are resident in the UK.
We’re looking for ideas that offer exciting new angles on climate change - or new ways to make art in an eco-friendly fashion.
It doesn’t matter what medium you work in - from film to theatre, photography to visual arts, music to poetry - Ideas Fund Green is open to all creative disciplines. The key is innovation.
As with all issue-based art, the danger is coming across as worthy – and we don’t want that. Our challenge to you is to come up with original, thought-provoking ideas and techniques that will inspire people, not lecture them.
So how do you apply? Just click on 'how to respond' at the top of the brief.

How to respond
First up, make sure you are following the brief by clicking on the yellow button on the left.
Then you need to read the Ts&Cs. Sorry, we know this is the boring bit but if you don’t your application may be invalid. We’ve had to turn down really interesting projects in the past because they’ve made simple mistakes in the application process.
Make sure there’s previous work in your portfolio and that you have a profile photo.
We love to see our members collaborating, so if you're a group then that's great, but one person will need to take the lead on the application. They will need to submit the application as an individual and they will be our first point of contact if your application is successful.
Your project must take place between September 2010 and March 2011. If your project takes place outside of these dates then sadly it will be ineligible for this round of funding.
This brief closes at 5pm on 9th August 2010. We will not consider late applications under any circumstances, including technical difficulties, so it's a good idea to allow yourself plenty of time to get your application uploaded, and a bad idea to call us crying when you miss the deadline.
